Keep Our Police

In my youth we had a campsite in Rock Hill park. 35 years ago I moved my family up from the city, back then Shelburne had a hospital with an emergency room. Before Dr Wheeler died even after the emergency room closed I could call Dr Wheeler in a minor emergency and get emergency treatment in Shelburne.

I am blind now; so I don’t drive, last year I cut my finger and needed 4 stitches, I couldn’t get the 4 stitches in Shelburne. $75.oo for an ambulance to get to Orangeville ER. Or $60.oo taxi ride to the ER and another $60.oo taxi ride home.

And now town counsel is thinking about moving another emergency service out of town where handy capped people like me will not have access. The Shelburne Police Services provide this community with a lot more services then just giving out tickets. If you go with the OPP and the OPP station in Primrose you will be cutting off police services for people like me that don’t drive. We need our police services in Shelburne not Primrose.

What we need more is a local health care facility that provides at least basic health and emergency services

We need more healthcare services and coverage to assist residents through out the month, and not shorter open hours.
